Director Aditya Dhar's upcoming spy-thriller, Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh, has fuelled substantial excitement for its running time, which is anticipated to be longer than expected. The film is expected to be more than three and a half hours long, according to reports.

Earlier, it was revealed that the film inspired by true events would be a two-part series. "Dhurandhar Part 1's length is said to be around 3 hours and 32 minutes. The final runtime has been kept under wraps. But it’s expected to be close to 3.5 hours long. The process of acquiring the censor certificate has begun. Once the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passes the film in a few days from now, the exact runtime will be known," a Bollywood Hungama report claimed, while attributing a source.

It further revealed, "Dhurandhar tells a vast story, and hence the lengthy runtime. Director Aditya Dhar is an expert storyteller. Look at Uri: The Surgical Strike or his productions like Article

370, Dhoom Dhaam and the recently-released Baramulla. He always ensures that there’s a lot happening in his films and that the goings-on don’t feel stretched. Dhurandhar’s storytelling will be on the same lines. There would be so much happening that the audience would be gripped from start to finish."

If the reports hold true, Dhurandhar is set to become the longest Bollywood film released in nearly 17 years. This record has been held since 2008 by the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Jodhaa Akbar, which clocked in with a running time of 3 hours and 34 minutes. Prior to 2008, several major productions exceeded the three-hour mark: LOC Kargil (2003) ran for 4 hours and 7 minutes; Lagaan (2001) was 3 hours and 44 minutes; Salaam-E-Ishq (2007) was 3 hours and 36 minutes; and Mohabbatein (2000) ran for 3 hours and 35 minutes.

While the first movie will hit theatres on December 5, 2025, the second part is likely to release in the first half of 2026.
