Ranbir Kapoor is all set to commit himself to the lead role of Lord Ram in Nitish Tiwari’s upcoming film 'Ramayan'. A new report has claimed that he is going to quit alcohol and meat to be ‘as pure as Ram’ in the film.

Actors often go to great lengths to immerse themselves in their characters, and according to a recent report, it seems that Ranbir will be doing just that by abstaining from alcohol and meat to align with Lord Ram's purity.

According to the source, Ranbir will not be quitting alcohol and meat for the disguise but to be as pure as Rama in his role. The first part of the trilogy will

center on Lord Ram and Sita, leading up to the conflict of Sita Haran.

The source mentioned, "While the film will be shot, Ranbir will abstain completely from drinking and eating meat. These are not things he would avoid just for his public image, but also, as a dedicated actor Ranbir wants to feel as pure and clean as Sri Rama. In any case, Ranbir is not into late nights and wild parties.”

"The duo will shoot for the film from February to August 2024 before calling it a wrap for Ramayana: Part One," according to the source. The Oscar-winning company, DNEG, is also said to be working on the VFX plates.
