A unique event unfolded in India's cultural landscape as former President Ram Nath Kovind, alongside his wife and daughter, took part in a devotional video project. The film, titled 'Mera Namokar', features the family collectively chanting the Namokar Mantra, making it the first occasion where a President of India and his family have appeared together in a devotional film. This participation was driven by Kovind's personal interest after learning about the initiative, as shared by the organisers.
The video was produced by the Bhagwan Mahavir Deshna Foundation, with directors Subhash Oswal Jain, Anil Kumar Jain, Rajeev Jain, and Manoj Kumar Jain at the helm. The directors stated that upon learning about the project, Hon’ble Kovind expressed a personal desire to be a part of it along with his family.
The launch took place at the grand Mere Mahavir 2.0 – Mera Namokar event, arranged to mark the 2552nd Nirvan Mahotsav of Lord Mahavir at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The film was presented to a large audience, who responded with visible appreciation and reverence. 'Mera Namokar' seeks to showcase the sound, meaning, and spiritual importance
of the Namokar Mantra in a modern yet respectful format.
CA Rajeev Jain, who was instrumental in conceptualising the film, explained, "CA Rajeev Jain, who played a key role in conceptualizing and producing the film, explained that the aim was to bring the essence, history, and universal energy of the Namokar Mantra to a global audience in an inspiring cinematic format."
Speaking at the event, former President Kovind expressed his family's feelings about their participation: "It is beyond words to express the joy my family and I felt while being part of this video. Chanting the Namokar Mantra together filled us with a new sense of energy and peace." The launch was followed by a musical performance by singer Vicky D Parekh, whose Jain bhajans contributed to the devotional atmosphere in the hall.
In his closing remarks, Foundation Director Manoj Kumar Jain highlighted the values underpinning the occasion: "The three principles of Lord Mahavir — Ahimsa (non-violence), Aparigraha (non-possessiveness), and Atma Shuddhi (self-purification) — are the true mantras of life. By following these, we can spread peace and harmony in society."
