Puneeth Rajkumar posthumously awarded Karnataka Ratna today

Puneeth Rajkumar, who passed away last year, was awarded the Karnataka Ratna on Tuesday, November 1. Appu’s wife Ashwini received the honour on his behalf. The event was attended by Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Telugu actor Jr NTR.

This comes days after Puneeth’s last movie, Gandhada Gudi opened in theatres on October 28 and received rave reviews from



fans and critics alike. The documentary explores Karnataka’s natural beauty.

Puneeth Rajkumar was posthumously awarded the Karnataka Ratna on Karnataka Rajyotsava for his contribution to cinema. His wife Ashwini received the honour on his behalf. The award was presented by CM Basavaraj Bommai, Rajinikanth, and Jr NTR. A fan club dedicated to Superstar shared a photo from the ceremony on Twitter.
