Actor Paresh Rawal's team on Friday released a statement, clarifying that the actor didn't shoot a single scene for 'Hera Pheri 3' before his exit. The statement comes after Akshay Kumar's film production, Cape of Good Films, sued Rawal for Rs 25 crore for quitting the film midway. Rawal, who was a part of both the films in the 'Hera Pheri' franchise, was accused of being 'unprofessional' in a statement issued by Kumar's team while filing the suit.
The statement quoted a source close to Rawal as saying, "Calling someone like Paresh Rawal, a stalwart with four decades of iconic work, ‘unprofessional’ is not just unfair, it’s laughable. Let’s be clear: the film hadn’t even started. There was a promo shoot, not a film schedule. The real shoot is
planned for sometime next year. So, the idea that he ‘walked out’ is just the worst theatrical imagination at best."
The statement alleged that Kumar's team had earlier said Rawal shot for around three-and-a-half minutes for the film. The source added in the statement that Rawal has maintained professionalism for over four decades in the industry. It also referred to his 'honesty and discipline' as an actor.
"He exited long before the tent was even pitched, before the lights, camera, and chaos of the circus rolled into town. Paresh Rawal is someone who has built his career one role at a time—not on headlines, but on honesty, discipline, and sheer craft. He doesn’t need the noise, and certainly doesn’t thrive on it," it further read.
