Singer and filmmaker Palaash Muchhal has been accused of cheating a Sangli-based man of Rs 40 lakh, according to a complaint filed with the Sangli district police on Wednesday evening.

According to the complaint, Vaibhav Mane, who is a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana and a film financier by profession, was introduced to Palaash Muchhal by Mandhana's father, Srinivas Mandhana, during Muchhal's visit to Sangli.

The complainant has alleged that Muchhal took money from him for the production of a film but failed to return it after the project did not materialise. Mane has submitted documents and transaction details as part of his complaint to the Superintendent of

Police.

Mane alleges that Palaash Muchhal approached him with a proposal to invest in the production of a film titled Nazariya. Mane claims he was assured that the project would lead to a quick release on an OTT platform and a prompt return on investment.

Based on these assurances, Mane invested a total of Rs 40 lakh in the film's production. He provided the funds in multiple installments, both in cash and via Google Pay, and has submitted transaction evidence to the authorities.

However, the complainant alleged that the film was never completed. When he demanded his money back, Muchhal initially promised to repay the amount but later began avoiding his calls and eventually blocked his number.
