Singer Mika Singh has announced a contribution of Rs 11 lakhs to support actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav, who was sent to Tihar jail in connection with a cheque-bounce case. The development follows a Delhi High Court decision that denied further relief to Yadav in a long-standing debt dispute, leading to his surrender and imprisonment.
Other than Mika Singh, Yes Madan founder Mayan Arya also extended financial aid to Rajpal
Yadav. Arya said that the company has offered an ad film to Yadav.
Rajpal Yadav’s financial difficulties stem from a loan of 5 crore taken in 2010 from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata (2012). The film’s commercial failure triggered a repayment crisis and legal action, culminating in Yadav’s conviction under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in 2018.
