Moonwalks, magic and the man behind the myth – Michael, a new biographical film on the life of Michael Jackson, is gearing up to bring the King of Pop’s extraordinary journey to the big screen. Backed by the Jackson estate and produced by Lionsgate and GK Films, the much-anticipated film is set to release on April 24.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the biopic marks the feature debut of Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew, who steps into the shoes of one of the most
iconic entertainers in music history. The screenplay has been penned by John Logan, known for films such as Gladiator and Rango.
Michael traces Jackson’s evolution from a prodigiously talented child leading the Jackson 5 to becoming a solo superstar whose influence reshaped global pop culture. The film promises a layered portrayal, offering glimpses into both the spectacle of his performances and the private struggles that defined his life off-stage.
