Rumours were doing the rounds that actor Manoj Bajpayee has been roped in to play the role of Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey in a film. The actor, however, took to Twitter to rubbish such reports.

He retweeted a news article about the film and wrote, "Wrong news.”

Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter today. He was accused of killing eight policemen and a BJP minister. Searching Vikas for days, police nabbed him on his way to the famous Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Vikas tried to snatch a police weapon and opened fire. He was soon shot.

Coming to Manoj, he was last seen in SonyLIV's show Bhonsle. In the show, Manoj plays a retired cop, who helps migrants fight a local politician. The show is directed by Devashish Makhija.
