West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed concern for Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who reportedly suffered muscular injuries while filming his upcoming project 'King'. In a heartfelt post, Banerjee referred to the actor as her “brother” and wished him a speedy recovery.

“Reports regarding my brother Shah Rukh Khan sustaining muscular injuries during shooting make me worried. Wish him a speedy recovery (sic),” Banerjee wrote, tagging the actor.

Sources said that the injury is not serious and the actor is recovering well. However, the incident has impacted the production schedule,

with filming now expected to resume in September.

Following the injury, SRK travelled to the United States and has since relocated to the UK, where he is recuperating with his family. A planned trip to Sri Lanka has been postponed to prioritise his recovery and well-being.

This isn’t the first time the West Bengal CM has shown public affection for SRK. The actor has served as the brand ambassador of West Bengal and is a frequent guest at the state’s annual Kolkata International Film Festival. Their camaraderie often makes headlines, with Banerjee affectionately referring to Khan as her “brother.”
