The Madras High Court has dismissed actor Tamannaah Bhatia’s appeal seeking Rs 1 crore in compensation from Power Soaps Limited over the alleged unauthorized use of her images.

A division bench comprising Justices P. Velmurugan and K. Govindarajan Thilakavadi upheld an earlier ruling, stating that the actor failed to provide credible evidence to support her claims. The court found no merit in the appeal and concluded that Tamannaah could not establish her case.

The dispute dates back to 2008, when Tamannaah signed an endorsement agreement with Power Soaps

Limited. As per the contract, the company was permitted to use her images for one year, until October 2009.

However, she alleged that the company continued using her photographs on product packaging and in advertisements during 2010 and 2011 without her consent. Tamannaah argued that this unauthorized usage violated the agreement and affected her professional prospects, especially as she was negotiating with competing brands at the time.

She sought Rs 1 crore in damages along with a permanent injunction to restrain the company from further use of her images.
