Kiara Advani in talks to play Meena Kumari in upcoming biopic

The much-anticipated Meena Kumari biopic has been making headlines ever since its announcement, and now there's even more excitement surrounding the project. According to reports, Kiara Advani has been approached to play the legendary actor in what could be one of the most ambitious films of her career. If confirmed, this would mark Kiara’s first film post-pregnancy.

The film has been backed by Sidharth P Malhotra in collaboration with Saregama and the Amrohi family, and is being mounted on a massive scale.

Sources close to the project revealed, “The makers have approached Kiara Advani to portray the legendary Meena Kumari in her upcoming biopic. The film’s director and creative team



reportedly believe that Kiara is the perfect choice for the iconic role, given the emotional depth and the grace that the role demands. They have already narrated the script to the actress, and while Kiara is said to have loved the narration, she is yet to give her final nod.”

If Kiara comes on board, the film would mark Kiara’s return to the screen after her maternity break.

Another major talking point is the casting of Kamal Amrohi, Meena Kumari’s former husband and one of Indian cinema’s most iconic filmmakers. The chemistry between the lead pair will be crucial in capturing the emotional complexity of their relationship, which played a key role in the late actor's personal and professional life.
