Actor Kartik Aaryan is reportedly set to play the role of an Air Force pilot in the upcoming film 'Captain India'. The movie would mark his first collaboration with director Shimit Amin. Amin previously directed films like 'Ab Tak Chhappan' and 'Chak De! India'.

A report by PinkVilla said, "Kartik and Shimit have been in talks for the last year, jamming on multiple subjects to explore a potential collaboration. That’s when Kartik introduced Shimit to the world of 'Captain India'. The filmmaker found it to be a fascinating story."

It further quoted a source as saying, "Shimit has worked out a tight screenplay for 'Captain India'.

He is all set to take the film on floors with Kartik in the first half of 2026. When the filmmaker narrated the story to Kartik, the actor too was bowled over by the script," added the source.

Real-life incidents reportedly inspired the plot of the film. The shooting will take place in India and Morocco, with a team having already conducted a recce to finalise locations.

Previously, filmmaker Hansal Mehta was reportedly slated to direct the movie under the RSVP banner. However, the project eventually found its way to Amin. The film's schedule is set for March to July 2026 and it could be released in theatres in the first half of 2027.
