While promoting her upcoming horror film 'Maa', actor Kajol shared a chilling anecdote that’s now stirring conversation online. Reflecting on her past shooting experiences, the Bollywood star pointed to Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, one of the largest studio complexes in the world, as a place she considers to be truly haunted.
During an interview with Galatta India, Kajol shared, “I’ve shot at places that made me feel uneasy. I couldn’t sleep. Ramoji Film City, to me, is one of the most haunted places in the world,” adding that while she personally hasn't seen any ghosts there, the eerie energy left a lasting impression.
Her remarks quickly lit up social media, especially among Hyderabad locals and fans
of Telugu cinema. While some found her honesty refreshing, others were less amused. An X user criticised Kajol for using such claims as a “false claim,” while several others dismissed the haunted narrative entirely.
“Kajol calling Ramoji Film City as the most haunted place in the world is a slight on the largest Film City in Asia or even the world due to jealousy and envy for Hindi Cinema to have fallen far from its glory (sic)," one user noted. Others called it a subtle dig at the Telugu film industry, pointing out that iconic blockbusters like Baahubali, Pushpa, and RRR were filmed there without incident.
Meanwhile, another section of fans concurred with her and recalled incidents that surfaced in the past.
