Javed Akhtar express disappointment over Virat Kohli's retirement, asks him to reconsider

Lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has requested Virat Kohli to reconsider his decision of premature retirement. On May 14, the veteran lyricist shared a post on X and mentioned that he is ‘disappointed’ with the cricketer’s decision.

Akhtar even suggested Kohli reconsider his decision. “Obviously Virat knows better but as an admirer of This great player, I am disappointed by his rather premature retirement from Test cricket. I think there is still a lot of cricket in him. I sincerely request him to reconsider his decision (sic),” the post

On May 12, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket after a 14-year-long journey. In an emotional Instagram post, he wrote, “It’s been 14 years since I first donned the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I could never have predicted the path this format would lead me on. It has tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I’ll cherish for life (sic).”

Later, several Bollywood actors including Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Angad Bedi and Aparshakti Khurrana also reacted to the cricketer’s decision and called it disheartening.
