Prashant Tamang, winner of Indian Idol 3, died at 43 after a suspected cardiac arrest. Bhaven Dhanak, Tamang’s co-contestant on the singing reality show, confirmed the news to India Today, sharing that Prashant died this morning in Delhi. “Given it has happened all of a sudden, we don’t have many details, but it’s been said that it was a cardiac arrest. We are also awaiting information on the funeral.”
The Delhi Police said Tamang was taken to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Delhi's Janakpuri by his wife, where doctors declared him dead on arrival at around

Police said they received information about the death through a medico-legal case (MLC) from the hospital. An investigating officer reached the hospital and collected the MLC, following which the body was shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Statements of the deceased’s family members and relatives were recorded, in which they said they did not suspect any foul play, officials added. They told police that Tamang had slept well the previous night but did not wake up in the morning.
