The Indian adaption of the popular American cop-comedy series 'Brooklyn Nine Nine' is reportedly in the works. Actor Kunal Kemmu could reprise the role of Andy Samberg's character, Jake Perala, in the show, as per reports.
The show, spanning across eight seasons, is a fans' favourite. Many fans have not only watched the entire show but gone through multiple re-runs of it. Various anecdotes, scenes and characters still remain fresh in the memory of its fans, making the show a cult classic.
A report by Hindustan Times stated that the makers want to bring out the Indian version of the show, but it is still at a very early stage. "The makers do have a strong
desire to bring out the Indian adaptation, but it is at a very nascent stage. Nothing is signed or confirmed yet, and they are still looking out for a platform," the report stated.
Earlier, speculation was rife that Kemmu had been approached for the series. However, the recent report clarified that while Kemmu's name has reportedly been discussed, he has not been approached yet.
"The casting of Kemmu is a complete rumour. His name has been discussed amongst the makers due to his impeccable comic timing, but he has not been a part of those discussions yet and nothing has been taken to him. The casting process is still a few months away,” the report added.
