The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) on Sunday announced its 22nd edition of IIFA Weekend and Awards has been postponed following UAE's President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's demise. The event will now be held from July 14, 15 and 16, in Abu Dhabi.

The 22nd season of the IIFA Awards, which was to be held in Abu Dhabi, has been postponed. In the UAE, 40 days of mourning has been announced to mourn the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).



Due to this, the IIFA Awards has been pushed further. The event has now been rescheduled and will take place on July 14, 15 and 16, in Abu Dhabi.

The official Twitter handle of IIFA also mourned the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). “With the sad news of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, passing away we share our deepest condolences with his family and the people of UAE. May God have mercy on him and grant him eternal peace (sic),” read the tweet.
