The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the makers of the controversial film not to release the rights to the film until the court delivers its decision on the petitions challenging its certification.
Hearing the matter, the High Court observed that the apprehensions raised by the petitioners were "probably genuine" and asked the producers to hold back the release of the film's rights scheduled for tomorrow. "Do not release the rights for the movie tomorrow. Wait for the
hearing to conclude and for the court to decide on the petitions," the bench said.
The court also questioned the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) over the certification granted to the film. "You have not even given an 'A' certificate to the film. You've given U/A," the bench remarked. The court further noted that the makers were not keen on screening the film immediately and observed that there was a shortage of time to examine the matter in detail.
