Actor-politician Hema Malini paid a special tribute to her late husband, actor Dharmendra's legacy by sharing a collage video composed of his films and throwback family moments. She revealed that the visual tribute was made for the two prayer meetings "arranged in Delhi and Mathura."
Hema, while sharing the video tribute on her X handle, captioned, "Special tribute to Dharam ji highlighting his evergreen appeal, his charisma, his immense talent and his tremendous, impactful presence in all his movies. This visual trbute was made for the two prayer meetings that I had arranged in Delhi and Mathura...(folded hand emoji) (sic)."
In the video, a compilation of films from Dharmendra's early career to movies like Apne and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was also shared. In the video, while speaking about Dharmendra at an award function late actor Dilip Kumar says, "Maine jab pehli bar Dharam ko dekha tha to dekhte hi mere dil me umang paid hui ki Allah mujhko aise hi banaya hota to kya hota (When I saw Dharmendra for
the first time, I thought to myself, what if God also made me like him)." An embarrassed Dharmendra can be seen touching Dilip Kumar's feet as Saira Banu smiled behind him.
In one of the clips from Apne, Dharmendra's voiceover says, "Zindagi bilkul in barf ke resho hi ki tarah to hai...pal bhar ke liye theharti hai aur pighal jaati hai...par kambhakht jitni der rehtai hai, badi khoobsurat lagti hai...magar ise har haal jana hi to hai (Life is like snow...it stays for a while and then it melts...but looks beautiful for whatever time it stays...but no matter what, it has to end."
The video included scenes from Dharam Veer, Dream Girl, Sholay, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Om Shanti Om, Chupke Chupke and many other iconic classics of Dharmendra. There were also family pictures with Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Esha Deol's wedding, childhood photos of his children including Ahana Deol.
The late actor's last film was Agastya Nanda's war-drama Ikkis (2025), set for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025.
