Haq debuts at No. 1 in India, and No. 2 globally on Netflix Non-English Film list

Director Suparn S Varma's legal drama, Haq (2025) has emerged as one of the most closely watched Hindi releases on Netflix at the beginning of 2026. The film featuring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi debuted at number one spot in India and number two globally after its streaming release.

According to Netflix weekly rankings, Haq debuted at No. 1 in India and opened at No. 2 globally on Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English Films list, as reported by Bollywood Hungama. The film also trended in the Top 10 across 14 countries, securing the number one position in 5 countries, the report mentioned.

The legal drama swiftly



climbed the Netflix India rankings and has maintained a strong position, even surpassing the performance of several movies that premiered on the streaming service much earlier. Crucially, Haq's success goes beyond mere statistics, sparking significant conversation within the film industry itself.

Actor Alia Bhatt praised Yami's performance in Haq on her Instagram story and wrote, "Queen Yami you are pure craft, heart and all things gold in Haq. One of my top female performances of all time As I mentioned over the phone too am a Yami fan waiting eagerly for all your work to once again charm and entertain us all (sic)."
