From Sr NTR to Jr NTR, the Nandamuri legacy, has profoundly shaped Telugu cinema for generations. Now, a new chapter unfolds with the debut of fourth-generation actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, great-grandson of the legendary Sr NTR. The film was formally launched with a puja ceremony on Monday at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and grandfather of the actor, N. Chandrababu Naidu, shared his wishes on social media. “Warm wishes to Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, son of late Shri Janakiram Garu, as he marks his entry into cinema. Wishing him great success as the first look of his debut film is unveiled today,” he wrote.
Renowned director YVS Chowdary, known for his long-standing association with the Nandamuri family, is introducing the debutant in this new film. After previously working with both
Nandamuri Hari Krishna and Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chowdary now takes on the mantle of launching Harikrishna’s grandson.
The launch event was attended by members of the Nandamuri and Nara families, including Nara Bhuvaneswari, Garapati Lokeswari, Daggubati Purandeswari, and Vasundhara Devi, who gave the ceremonial first clap. A glimpse of the debutant was released during the event, showcasing his transformation after 18 months of training under YVS Chowdary.
Veenah Rao, a Kuchipudi dancer, has been finalised as the female lead. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravaani, with lyrics by Chandrabose. Sai Madhav Burra is writing the dialogues.
The project is being produced by Yalamanchili Geetha under the banner New Talent Roars@, with Ramesh Atthili serving as executive producer.
