Ektaa Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali unveil new love saga Heer Ranjha on Valentine's Day

The Laila Majnu franchise is officially expanding. On Valentine’s Day, Ektaa Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali announced the next chapter in their romantic universe -- Heer Ranjha, to be directed by Sajid Ali.

Positioned as a spiritual successor to the 2018 film Laila Majnu, the new project aims to retell the legendary Punjabi love story for contemporary audiences. The announcement, timed deliberately with



February 14, signals a continued investment in epic romances that refuse to fade with time.

The film will be produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor and Preety Ali under the Pi -- Films Pvt Ltd banner, with shooting expected to begin soon. If Laila Majnu quietly evolved into a cult favourite over the years, Heer Ranjha appears ready to enter the conversation with far more anticipation.
