As Drishyam gears up for its third and final chapter, actor Shriya Saran says the journey has been deeply emotional. In an exclusive conversation, the actor opened up about returning to the popular franchise.

Speaking about reprising her role in the world of Drishyam, Shriya said, “I’m extremely excited. This time, the script is exceptionally well-written—very tight and engaging. This is the final part, and we’re shooting for it now. It’s a super emotional journey for me because when I (recently) watched the film, I realised the first part was shot over ten years ago. We have all changed so much. I’ve grown so much since

then."

According to her, what truly sets Drishyam apart is its rare narrative structure within the mystery genre. “I don’t remember a mystery franchise having three parts. We’ve seen drama franchises, yes, but a mystery where the entire story revolves around one small incident is rare. The third part, believe me, is very interesting,” she said, hinting at the twists in store.

Shriya also pointed out how the Drishyam universe has evolved differently across languages, making each version a distinct experience. “Hindi Drishyam 2 was very different from the Malayalam version, and even Hindi Drishyam 3 is quite different from the Malayalam one,” she said.
