Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the upcoming film 'Ramayana', calling it a world-class production. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently attended the 4-day Waves Summit 2025, held at Jio Centre, Mumbai. There, he spoke to writer-producer Namit Malhotra and shared that he was truly amazed after visiting the set of the upcoming film 'Ramayana.' Stressing more on India's rich history and culture, Fadnavis said, "I think, as you rightly said, we are the world’s oldest storytellers. Our art, drama, and music are very old, and we only wanted to couple it with the latest technology - and I think that’s what you are

doing."

"So, yesterday, when I visited your pavilion with the Prime Minister, I was amazed to see the quality of 'Ramayana' that you are creating. I think this is the way we need to tell our stories to the new generation, and I believe what you are setting up will be the best in the globe," Fadnavis added.

Apart from the lead roles, the film also features Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta in important parts. Reportedly, the movie will be released in two parts, the first scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.

Before this mythological film, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in 'Animal' with Rashmika Mandanna, while Sai Pallavi’s last film was the Telugu movie 'Thandel' alongside Naga Chaitanya.
