In an Instagram post, Mika Singh paid tribute to Kumar, recalling his generosity and encouragement towards artists. “Just heard the heartbreaking news that Darshan Kumar ji has left us with his beautiful memories. He was truly a great man and always so helpful. He launched and supported so many singers and gave opportunities to countless talents. May Mata Rani bless his soul and give him eternal peace. Rest in peace. Om Shanti (sic),” he wrote.

also mourned the loss of Kumar, writing on X, "A major loss for our family, the passing of Shri Darshan Kumar ji leaves a space that cannot be filled (sic)."
Darshan Kumar was closely associated with the growth of T-Series, the music label founded by his brother in 1983. The company went on to become one of India’s most prominent music and film production houses, shaping the careers of several artists.
While T-Series is currently led by chairman Bhushan Kumar along with Krishan Kumar, Darshan Kumar played a key role in its earlier years. Despite his association with one of the industry’s most influential families, he largely stayed away from the spotlight, focusing on his work behind the scenes.
