Actor Celina Jaitly’s ongoing efforts to secure her brother’s release from detention in the United Arab Emirates advanced last week with a significant order from the Delhi High Court. Jaitly’s brother, Major Vikrant Jaitly, a former Special Forces commando, has been detained in the UAE since September 2025. The latest directive from the court allows the appointment of a legal firm based in the UAE to represent him, marking an important development in the case.

The matter has attracted attention due to the actor’s persistent demands for answers from authorities regarding the reasons and circumstances of her brother’s detainment. Jaitly has publicly sought clarity and action since learning about her brother’s situation, underscoring the family’s concern and the ongoing nature of their efforts.

ANI reported that the Delhi High Court has also issued a query to the central government, asking if it is

possible for officials or family members to interact with Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly during his period of detention in the UAE. This move suggests the court’s intent to ensure transparency and communication as the legal process continues.

"Celina Jaitly's brother's detention matter | The Delhi High Court has asked the counsel for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to get in touch with the ministry/Consulate to facilitate the interaction of Major (Retd) Vikrant Jaitly with the court. Vikarant Jaitly is in detention in the UAE. Meanwhile, the court has asked the parties not to interact with the media without court permission. The High has listed the matter for hearing on February 12," the post by ANI read on X.

The court’s order for the appointment of a UAE-based legal firm is expected to facilitate more direct representation and potentially expedite proceedings related to Major Jaitly’s case.
