Stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has announced that he will be reducing his touring commitments to focus on his health. The 38-year-old shared an Instagram story titled The Health Update to connect with his fans and explain the difficult decision. Having spent the last decade performing across the country, Khan revealed that the relentless schedule has adversely affected his well-being.
“I’ve been touring for the last ten years. I’m truly grateful for all the
love and support I’ve received, but this kind of extensive touring isn’t healthy,” he wrote, adding, “I’ve been unwell for over a year but kept working because it felt necessary at the time (sic).”
While performing has always been his passion, Khan admitted that prioritising his health had become unavoidable. “I absolutely love being on stage, but I have to take a break now. I don’t want to, but I’ve been ignoring this for too long (sic),” he added.
