Celebrity condolences continued to pour in all through Sunday following the death of Asha Bhosle, recognising her as a monumental figure in Indian cinema and music. The legendary playback singer died on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Mumbai at the age of 92.

Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Chiranjeevi, Hema Malini, Karan Johar and other prominent personalities paid tribute to Bhosle, highlighting her unique voice and lasting impact on generations of music lovers. Their heartfelt messages underline the void left by her departure.

Shah Rukh mourned the singer's death by saying, "It’s truly sad to learn about Asha Tai’s passing her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come. A talent that will outlive many, she always showered me with blessings and love and i will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai love you (sic)."

The superstar took to his X post and wrote, 'A huge loss for Indian music…. Heartbroken to hear about Asha ji. An irreplaceable voice, Your songs will continue to inspire generations.'

Aamir Khan's post
Aamir Khan wrote, 'Ashaji's sudden demise is a shock to all of us and a loss which cannot be conveyed in words. She was the last of the great four. Ashaji passing away marks the end of an era. She will always live with us through her songs. Her voice will always ring in our hearts. My heartfelt



condolences to her family. Love and respect always.'

Hema Malini described her emotional bond with the late singer on X, saying, "Asha Tai no more! I just can’t believe how someone so full of life, she who lent so much vivacity and character to her songs, has left us grieving (sic)." She recalled how Bhosle’s distinctive voice had helped popularise many of her songs and acknowledged the singer’s significant role in her own career.

Akshay Kumar mourned the loss on social media, stating, "No words can convey the loss I feel at Asha Bhosle ji’s demise. Unki surily awaaz hamesha hamesha ke liye amar rahegi (Her melodious voice will remain immortal forever). Om Shanti (sic)."

Karan Johar called himself her biggest fan and praised her voice and personality, saying her music will live on forever.

Kajol shared memories of Bhosle's love for life, food and humour. She recalled attending a recording session for a song that was never released and described the experience as "magnificent". In her Instagram post, Kajol said, "Ashatai was, is and will always be a legend .. as a singer, as a persona and as a human being (sic)."

Chiranjevi dedicated an emotional note to the late singer Asha Bhosle. While praising her iconic singing, he called Bhosle's voice a "timeless companion to Indian cinema."

Kamal Haasan, too, shared a compilation of photos with Asha Bhosle.
