A case has been registered against filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter, Krishna Bhatt, at Versova Police Station after a businessman alleged they cheated him out of Rs 13.5 crore. The complaint, filed with the police, accuses the pair of accepting funds from the businessman with promises of substantial returns on investments in film projects and other business ventures.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has now taken charge of the investigation following the registration of the case.
The
businessman approached police authorities after failing to receive the promised financial returns. He claimed that Vikram and Krishna induced him to invest by guaranteeing high profits, but did not fulfil these commitments.
This development comes after Vikram and his wife Shwetambari were previously arrested in December 2025 by Rajasthan Police in a separate case involving an alleged Rs 30 crore fraud. Their arrest followed an earlier complaint accusing them of financial wrongdoing connected to another business venture.
