Veteran Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away. He was 66. "Actor Satish Kaushik passes away, "Anupam Kher informed in an emotional note on social media along with a picture of both actors. Kaushik suffered a heart attack on the way to the hospital in New Delhi. He even attended veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar’s Holi party on Tuesday and shared a series of photos with Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha and more on his official Twitter account.

Satish Kaushik was one of the finest actors in Bollywood, who played some memorable characters like Manu Manek Mundra and Advocate Sadhuram. He was born on April 13, 1956, and was an actor, director, producer, comedian and screenwriter. He was an alumnus National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. The actor was married to Shashi Kaushik in 1985.

Javed Akhtar shared a picture with Satish from the Tuesday holiday bash. He wrote, "Satish a man full of warmth love and humour was like a brother to me since almost forty years . He was twelve years younger than me . Satish ji , it was not your turn."

Karan Johar wrote, "This is the saddest and extremely shocking news to wake up to... Such a solid actor and an immensely gracious and kind man.... RIP sir... This is a grave loss to our cinemas and fraternity..."

Ali Fazal shared, "Just Daybefore i met you, we played holi.. we broke bread. Now you are gone. Just like that. Too soon . This wasn’t your time sir. I dont want to say Rest, your spirit was way too evolved and infectious. It will stay with us forever. I am just sorry and gutted for the people you leave behind who have loved you so dearly. Your friends and most of all your family."

While speaking to PTI, Anupam Kher revealed that the late actor was at a friend's house in Delhi when he complained of uneasiness. While reaching the hospital with his driver, Satish Kaushik suffered a heart attack around 1 am. The Kashmir Files actor took to Twitter at 5 am earlier today and shared the bad news with fans. 

Priyanka Chopra mourns Satish Kaushik's demise. "Om shanti Satish sir. Papa and you will be talking and laughing as you always did. You will be very missed. Thank you for bringing so much laughter into our lives. Sending love, prayers and strength to the family."

Arbaaz Khan took to his Instagram and wrote, "RIP Satish ji, You will be missed... Om Shanti."

Kareena Kapoor says she's "extremely heartbroken" as actor-director Satish Kaushik passed away this morning.

"Today, we've lost one of the finest of the film industry. His memory will be a blessing to all those who knew and loved him. Heartfelt condolences to the family. #RestInPeace #SatishKaushik," wrote Suniel Shetty.

Ajay Devgn tweeted that he shared laughs with Satish Kaushik on and off screen. "Woke up to the sad news of Satishji’s (Kaushik) demise. I've shared laughs with him on & off screen. His presence filled a frame. In life too, whenever we met, he brought a smile to my face. Condolences to his family. RIP Satish Ji."

Sonu Sood, highlighting the goodness of Satish Kaushik, said: "When I came to Mumbai, Satish ji was the first director I met. He was so warm and humble. Gave a few lessons of life that will always stay with me. RIP SIR. Will miss u always."

Can’t believe you are gone, wrote actor Riteish Deshmukh in his condolence message. "Your hearty laugh still rings in my ears. Thank you for being a kind and generous co-actor, thank you for being a silent teacher. You will be missed, your legacy will live on in our hearts. #SatishKaushik ji #RestInPeace," Deshmukh wrote.

Abhishek Bachchan said he is "shocked" to hear of the passing of the actor. "A most gentle, kind and loving person. Always happy and smiling. A huge loss to our industry. Rest in peace dearest Satish uncle. We will all miss you," he tweeted.

"Shocked n saddened by the news of sad demise of a talented actor, director n a wonderful human being #SatishaKaushik ji. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family n friends, Om Shanti," writes Urmila Matondkar.  

Kangana Ranaut too took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti."
