Legendary music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri passed away. He was 69. As per new agency PTI, the singer breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital. Lahiri died on Tuesday night at the CritiCare Hospital in Juhu.

Singer Shaan took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "Aa bhi jaa, Aa bhi jaa Ek baar .. Yaad aa raha hai Tera Pyar!!! My Sweetest, Dearest, Cutest and Most Loving BappiDa!!! Will miss you so much," alongside a throwback picture of the two.

Expressing grief over the demise of Bappi Lahiri, Shreya Ghoshal penned a heartfelt note. She shared a throwback picture of herself with the late music composer and wrote, "I will always remember you as the true rock star of our country. Your music, your personality, everything about you dada, was iconic. Ever so loving, warm, charming and humble." 

Hema Malini took to Twitter to mourn Bappi Lahiri's demise. "Bappi Lahiri or Bappi Da as he was affly called, passed away around midnight. He will be remembered for his new disco music & fast numbers which he introduced in films, something no one had done earlier. He will be sorely missed by the industry & by all his many fans. Condolences," she tweeted.

After learning about Bappi Lahiri's death, Kajol and her mother Tanuja paid a visit to Bappi Lahiri's residence to pay their condolences to his family.

Bhumi Pednekar tweeted: "Complete Loss of Words. Heartbroken by the demise of the legendary Bappi Lahiri Ji. Truly a big loss. My condolences to his family and fans. Your music will live on forever, sir #RIPBappiLahiri."

Singer Alka Yagnik visited Bappi



Lahiri's residence in Mumbai to pay homage to the late hitmaker. For the unversed, Bappi Lahiri had collaborated with Alka Yagnik for several songs. 'Phool To Amari Chilo', 'Tomar Naam Likhe Debo', and 'Aajker Prem' are some of their successful collaborations in Bengali. In Bollywood, the duo had worked on the songs 'Aaya Aaya Yaar Mera' and 'Bambai Mai Baat Hui Hai' among several others.

Soon after veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri's demise, a childhood pic of him with Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away on February 8, went viral on social media. Bappi Lahiri had posted the throwback photo of India's nightingale on Instagram while mourning the demise of Mangeshkar. Dropping the priceless pic, he captioned it 'Maa.'

Veteran actor Anupam Kher mourned the demise of legendary composer and singer Bappi Lahiri. 

Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Today we lost another gem from the music industry… Bappi Da, your voice was the reason for millions to dance, including me. Thank you for all the happiness you brought through your music. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Om Shanti."

AR Rahman tweeted, "#RIPBappida… Bappi Lahiri, the Disco King of Hindi cinema!"

Ajay Devgn took to social media to mourn the demise of Bappi Lahiri. The actor tweeted, "Bappi Da was so endearing in person. But, his music had an edge."

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta paid an emotional moving tribute to Bappi Lahiri. "Another legend gone. #BappiLahiri. Had the good fortune of working closely with him when I shot an ad for p&g and then when I worked with White Feather Films for @_SanjayGupta. Man of incredible melody and talent," he wrote.
