Rapper Badshah has announced a revised version of his controversial track Tateeree, titled Tateeree Phir Se, after facing sustained backlash over its lyrics. The singer confirmed that the updated version will remove all objectionable portions and is slated for release on April 14.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Badshah said the decision followed feedback from multiple quarters, including government officials, the women’s commission and social groups. “We have made necessary changes and removed any part that was considered objectionable,” he said, adding that he respects the sentiments raised and acknowledges his responsibility as an artist.
The Haryanvi hip-hop track, released on March 1, 2026, drew criticism over certain lyrics that were flagged as inappropriate.
The backlash intensified across platforms, prompting authorities to step in. The National Commission for Women also took note of the issue, while reports indicated that local police moved to take down multiple links of the song online.
Badshah later issued a public apology, stating that there was no intent to hurt sentiments and that he was open to feedback.
The singer confirmed that Tateeree Phir Se will feature revised lyrics, with all contentious elements removed. He emphasised that the updated version aims to better reflect cultural sensitivity while retaining the essence of the original track.
He also noted that audience feedback played a key role in shaping the new version, calling it part of an ongoing learning process as an artist.
