Shah Rukh Khan has found an admirer in Australian Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, who recently confessed that he is a huge fan of the Bollywood superstar. During a podcast appearance, Burke also opened up about the Hindi films he loves and revealed that Om Shanti Om remains his all-time favourite movie.
Speaking on the Indian Link podcast with host and CEO Pawan Luthra, Burke was asked about the Bollywood films he enjoys the most. He immediately mentioned Shah Rukh and said, “I am a big Shah Rukh Khan fan, so let me start with that.”
Apart from praising Shah Rukh Khan, Burke also shared his admiration for Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman and said he particularly enjoys his music.
One
of his top picks was Chak De! India, which he said holds special significance because large parts of the film were shot in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
During the conversation, Burke was jokingly asked if he supported India in the film’s final hockey match against Australia. Laughing, he replied, “No, no, no although I did cheer for India in Lagaan.”
He also spoke highly of Jodhaa Akbar, starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, calling it “a beautiful epic” and “a phenomenal film.”
However, it was Om Shanti Om that stood out as his ultimate favourite. Burke said the film remains his “favourite film of all time” and praised its storytelling and emotional depth.
