Fresh details have emerged about Deepika Padukone’s role in Atlee’s Raaka, with reports saying she remains a central character in the film even after revealing her second pregnancy. The film’s team had earlier said that she plays a crucial part and would continue shooting during her pregnancy with a body double, and the latest update says her part in the story remains unchanged and carries an emotional arc.

Sources close to the production said Deepika continues to be a key driving force in the script and narrative, with no changes to her scenes. According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, some portions involving action will now be completed with a body double, while Deepika will continue shooting the dramatic parts.

A source close to the production said, “Deepika has a stellar entry, and also a big action moment with Allu

Arjun. All of those will now be done by a double, whereas Deepika will continue to shoot the dramatic moments. Her role stays intact, with no deletion what so ever. She is a key protagonist of Raaka, and nothing changes due to pregnancy.”

Directed by Atlee, Raaka has been drawing attention, particularly for the parts played by Deepika and Allu Arjun. Earlier too, a source had said, “Amidst her pregnancy, Deepika Padukone is shooting intense action sequences for Raaka and will continue to shoot for the film throughout her pregnancy.”

On April 19, Deepika shared the pregnancy news on Instagram through a post that included a glimpse of her daughter, Dua Singh Padukone, holding a pregnancy test. Earlier, on February 29, 2024, Deepika and Ranveer Singh had announced their pregnancy by sharing a picture of baby essentials in pink and blue colours.
