Pakistani singer Atif Aslam announced the death of his father, Muhammad Aslam, on Tuesday. His father, aged 77, died of health complications after surviving a heart attack a few months back.

In a touching tribute on Instagram, the singer affectionately called his “Iron Man”. Atif can be seen kissing his father on the cheek in the photo. The caption of his post read, “A final goodbye to my Iron Man. Rest in love, Abu g. Keep us in your prayers. (sic)”

The singer's post was not visible in India. This was due to a blanket ban on the social media accounts of Pakistani artists by the

Indian government in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025. However, screenshots of his post soon circulated across social media platforms. Several Pakistani celebrities and fans shared their condolences online.

The final rites of the singer's father would take place in Lahore's Valencia Town following Asr prayers.

On the professional front, Atif Aslam has recorded several songs for both Pakistani and Indian films. He started his music career in the early 2000s with his first album, 'Jal Pari. His first song in a Bollywood film was 'Aadat' in the 2005 film 'Kalyug.'
