Asha Bhosle's dream music institute to be built in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has announced plans to establish a premiere music institute, fulfilling a vision set by the late legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared this update during a state cabinet meeting, held shortly after the death of the iconic playback singer on April 12.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted the government's commitment to realising Asha Bhosle's dream. The singer had previously submitted a proposal to create an institution dedicated to music, and the administration is determined to honour her legacy by moving forward with this



project.

The cabinet meeting, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and other ministers, began with a condolence motion read by Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal. The members observed a moment of silence in tribute to her immense contribution to Indian art and culture.

By prioritising the establishment of this music institute, Maharashtra aims to ensure that Asha Bhosle's technical mastery and artistic spirit continue to inspire future generations of musicians.

The veteran singer was cremated with full state honours at Shivaji Park Crematorium on Monday, a day after she died at the age of 92.
