Akshay Kumar, Rani Mukerji unite for Oh My God 3, shoot to begin mid-2026: Report

Rani Mukerji is reportedly set to join Akshay Kumar for the third instalment of the Oh My God franchise. This will mark their first-ever on-screen collaboration.

The film, currently in pre-production, will go on floors by mid-2026. Director Amit Rai, who returns after the previous instalment, is at the helm of the project.

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “This is easily one of the biggest castings in recent years. Oh My God is among Akshay Kumar’s most loved franchises, and it’s only getting bigger with Rani Mukerji joining the film. Her presence will add immense gravitas and freshness to the narrative."

The Oh My God series has been recognised for its blend of compelling social themes and entertainment. With Rani Mukerji’s addition, expectations are rising for a new dynamic between the lead performers.

The source further explained that the creative team is committed to elevating the



narrative. “Director Amit Rai has cracked a story that is bigger, more relevant, and hard-hitting than the previous installments. Akshay was clear that OMG 3 had to scale up in every aspect, from story, emotions, to performances, and Rani coming on board has made the film even bigger," added the source.

Following the success of Oh My God and Oh My God 2, Akshay Kumar is set to return to the franchise, reuniting once again with director Amit Rai.
