Actor Akshay Kumar has once again stepped forward in a time of crisis, pledging Rs 5 crore to aid relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-hit Punjab. The northern state is reeling under one of its worst natural disasters, and Kumar’s contribution is expected to provide much-needed support for those affected.
Confirming the news, Kumar shared, “Yes, I am giving Rs 5 crores for buying relief material for the Punjab flood victims, but who am I to ‘donate’ to anyone? I feel blessed when I get an
opportunity to extend a helping hand. For me, it’s my sewa, my very small contribution. I pray that the natural calamity that has struck my brothers and sisters in Punjab passes soon. Rab mehr kare.”
This is not the first time the actor has come forward during humanitarian crises. From contributing during the Chennai floods and the Covid-19 pandemic to supporting the families of soldiers through the Bharat Ke Veer initiative, Kumar has consistently used his influence and resources to help those in need.
