South Korea’s major entertainment labels appear to be lining up for India. After HYBE became the first K-pop giant to establish a dedicated presence in the country earlier this year, JYP Entertainment is now preparing to expand into the Indian market as part of its global strategy, according to a recent announcement.

The company behind Stray Kids, TWICE and ITZY is set to open an office in India, marking one of its most significant moves into a new Asian territory.

This follows a wave of interest from Korean labels. After HYBE’s early push to tap into India’s growing fandom, G-Dragon’s agency Galaxy Corporation also hinted of its plans to explore opportunities in the region, including partnerships and concerts.

JYP’s decision positions it as the third major Korean label to actively eye India as a strategic market after

expanding in the United States.

While the exact office location and timeline remain undisclosed, JYP’s move aligns with its broader plan to build regional hubs across Asia. With K-pop streaming numbers in India rising sharply year after year, the country has emerged as one of the fastest-expanding markets for Korean content.

Industry watchers say bringing a top-tier label into India could accelerate local promotions, deepen fan outreach and unlock collaboration pathways between Indian musicians and K-pop producers. It may also lead to scouting programmes for Indian talent as global agencies diversify their artist pipelines.

For JYP, the India expansion is more than just market entry, it’s a long-term bid to shape the next phase of K-pop’s global evolution, with India positioned as a key player rather than just a consumer base.
