Actors Ashok Saraf, Anant Nag, Shobana and others conferred with Padma awards

The Indian entertainment industry witnessed a historic event as many artists were conferred with Padma Awards by President Droupadi Murmu on May 28. Veteran actors Ashok Saraf, Anant Nag, Indian composer and three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej and actor-dancer Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai were amongst the recipients at Padma Awards 2025.

Actors Anant Nag and Ashok Laxman Saraf received Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, respectively, from the President of India.



Musician Ricky Kej was also conferred the Padma Shri for his exemplary work. Actor Shobana Chandrakumar was honoured with Padma Bhushan for her contribution to art. Late singer Sharda Sinha was awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously in the Art category as well.

On April 28, the first phase of the award ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ajith Kumar, Shekhar Kapur and many others received their awards last month.
