Actor Aamir Khan might just have already found his next project after the recent success of 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. A report in Zoom suggested that he has been closely following the details of the Meghalaya murder case, and is keen on making a crime-thriller based on the real-life tragedy.

The report quoted a source close to the actor as saying, "Aamir Khan is closely following the updates on the Meghalaya murder case. He has personally tracked and discussed with his close circle the updates on the details. There might be a development on the subject from his production too."

Khan, known for his penchant for perfection in cinema, has not announced his next after 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. While the reports suggest that the Meghalaya case might have caught his attention, it is yet to be ascertained if he has only decided to produce the film or to

also star in it.

Whatever the project seems to be, the discussion is still at a nascent stage, and no casting has been locked yet.

The case involves Sonam and Raja (29), who got married on May 11 in Indore and left for their honeymoon on May 20. Just three days later, the couple went missing near Sohra, 65 kilometres from Shillong.

Raja’s decomposed body was recovered on June 2 from a 200-foot-deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls in Cherrapunji, where he had been hacked to death and dumped, police said.

A week later, the "missing" Sonam was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur. During interrogation, she allegedly confessed to her husband’s murder and named Kushwaha and three hitmen - Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput - as co-conspirators. All four were arrested by Indore Police.
