Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has responded to social media trolling after several users shared pictures of her film characters following criticism over her recent remarks on Gen Z. Ranaut had stirred controversy after saying that some young Hindu women flaunt freedom without accountability and calling them "generation gutter."

Amid the backlash, Ranaut said such comparisons should not be used to influence vulnerable teenagers. In a post on Instagram Stories, she reposted a reel of herself speaking in Parliament and said that the roles she has played as an actor should not be equated with how teenagers behave in everyday settings.

Ranaut also referred to a statement made by a Congress leader using her picture after she won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. She said she has played various roles in her career as an artist and that she

feels no shame in admitting that her profession requires her to fit the demands of a part.

In the caption, she wrote, “You want to use my movie character clips I get paid millions to play, high profile show business events where I am surrounded by my own entourage and event planners security forces, you want to use these to convince vulnerable teenagers that she can do the same on the road or in school functions or in dingy clubs? Is it the same thing (sic)?”

She added, “Don't mislead the youth, it's not the same thing. Today you mislead others children tomorrow it will be yours (sic).”

Earlier, an old video of Kangana partying had resurfaced online after her Gen Z 'generation gutter' remark sparked a row. The clip drew mixed reactions, with some users mocking the contrast, while others defending her right to enjoy herself.
