Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on October 30, 2026, will be held under enhanced security, with nearly 2,000 private security personnel expected to be deployed and traffic restrictions likely around the venue from 1 pm to midnight.
Delhi Police has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance, avoid affected roads and use public transport, preferably the Delhi Metro. Police also plan to create a vehicle-free, pedestrian-only perimeter around the stadium to manage crowds and prevent traffic congestion.
The security arrangements follow discussions between the event organisers and Delhi Police, which had temporarily withheld permission for the concert because of specific threat-related inputs and security and law-and-order commitments during the festive season.
According to The Indian Express, the authorities
recommended a substantial increase in personnel to manage the expected crowd at the stadium, which can accommodate nearly 55,000 people. The number of private security personnel was increased from the 400 initially proposed by the organisers to between 1,500 and 2,000.
The additional guards will direct queues, staff assistance kiosks, guide ticket holders to designated entry points and maintain orderly pedestrian movement along the stadium’s perimeter.
Police are also planning to enforce a vehicle-free zone extending 500 to 700 metres around the stadium. Access to the restricted area will be limited to the artiste’s convoy and vehicles carrying specialised event passes.
The organisers have been directed to arrange additional parking facilities and coordinate with ride-hailing services and digital navigation platforms to streamline pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
