A fresh police case has been registered against stand-up comedian Pranit More in Gurugram amid mounting outrage over the viral "Rs 370 biryani" controversy, which has sparked a wider debate on misogyny and the limits of comedy.

The FIR was lodged against More and Himanshu Jangra, the tech professional who made the remarks normalising sexual coercion and undermining women's

dignity, based on a complaint from the National Commission for Women (NCW).

The controversy erupted after Jangra, an audience member of one of More's recent Gurugram shows, said that he had spent Rs 370 on chicken biryani during a date and later sought sexual favours from the woman in return when she asked him to drop her home, triggering widespread outrage.
