Abhishek Bachchan was among the Bollywood celebrities who arrived to pay their last respects to filmmaker Sanjay Gupta as his last rites began in Mumbai on Saturday. The actor was joined by Farah Khan, Rakesh Roshan, Fardeen Khan and several others at Gupta's residence, where family, friends and colleagues gathered to bid him farewell before his final journey to the Versova crematorium.

The farewell was an emotional one for those who knew the filmmaker. Ronit Roy, among the first to arrive, struggled to hold back tears as he mourned the sudden loss. Rohit Roy was also visibly emotional, while filmmaker Milap Zaveri appeared shaken as he reached the residence to pay his respects.

Sudhanshu Pandey and Ashoke Pandit were among the other members of the film fraternity who visited

Gupta's home. The gathering saw several of his friends and colleagues come together to remember the filmmaker and stand by his family during the difficult time.

Gupta reportedly died after falling in the bathroom of his Mumbai residence. The incident is believed to have taken place during the night and was discovered only early the following morning. Versova police have registered an accidental death report and are investigating the circumstances. They have said that no evidence of foul play has been found so far.

Gupta's death at 57 marks the end of a filmmaking career that spanned more than three decades. He made his directorial debut with Aatish: Feel The Fire in 1994 and went on to establish himself with films such as Jung, Kaante, Shootout at Wadala and Kaabil.
