The Bombay High Court on Monday granted an ad-interim injunction restraining unidentified entities and digital platforms from unauthorisedly recording, hosting, or streaming the forthcoming Namit Malhotra’s upcoming film, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend. The film officially releases on November 5, 2026.

The interim protection was passed in a suit filed by Godpower Media Private Limited, which

approached the court following an apprehension of copyright infringement through Anand and Naik legal company. The suit sought comprehensive protection over the underlying script, characters, footage, lyrics, and recordings of the film.

The court was informed that the film was produced for about 2,000 crores for Part I and the two parts had a combined budget of 4,000 crores.
