The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi on Saturday, with the political drama Article 370 emerging as the Best Feature Film. Actors Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty shared top honours for Best Actor in a Leading Role, alongside Yami Gautam who bagged Best Actress. Actors Sanjay Mishra, Ropashree Varkady, and Sachana Namidass dominated the supporting performance categories.

The jury, chaired by filmmaker Jayaraj, evaluated entries certified by the CBFC between 1 January and 31 December 2024. Other key winners included Rajkumar Periasamy as Best Director, Kalki 2898 AD for Wholesome Entertainment, Srikanth as Best Hindi Film, and Captain Miller for Promoting National, Social Values.
