The University of Hyderabad (UoH) penalized three students on Tuesday for organizing Shaheen Bagh night event on January 31 against the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens and the National Register of Population.

An incident report submitted by the security officer stated that the students – Faseeh Ahmed EK (department of communication), Sahana Pradeep (Centre for Applied Linguistics & Translation Studies)



and AS Adish (Centre for English Language Studies) — were involved in organising the ‘Shaheenbagh night event’ on January 31 from 9 pm to 2.30 am on February 1. They were “also involved in painting graffiti and defacing walls at the north shopping complex, inspite of instructions from the security personnel not to conduct the events as there was no permission to organise events after 9 pm,” read the order issued by the UoH registar P Sardar Singh.
