The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has secured a top-tier spot in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2026. In the latest rankings, which assessed 929 universities across 36 countries, UoH remains a leader among India’s Central Universities, consistently placing within the top 20 Indian institutions featured on the prestigious list. Regionally, the university continues to hold its ground in the competitive 251-300 bracket in Asia.
The 2026 data underscores the university’s commitment to academic rigour, particularly through its high faculty-to-student ratio and significant PhD output, the UoH said, adding that the varsity received high marks for its academic
reputation and a high volume of publications in high-impact international journals.
The university’s research in Chemistry and Life Sciences remains a primary driver of its global citation impact, the UoH said.
The institution showed “steady growth” in industry income, bolstered by increased consultancy and patent filings. It maintained a stable performance in attracting diverse talent and fostering global collaborations.
UoH Vice Chancellor in-charge Prof. J Anuradha said the university’s consistent performance in the THE Asia University Rankings 2026 is a tribute to the collective dedication of the faculty, researchers and students.
